Victorian Estate Planning Lawyers

Wills & Estates lawyers MelbournePlanning for your family’s future after you’re gone is a really important legal task.

If you take the time now to make an effective legally binding Will and Testament, and plan the management of your deceased estate in advance, you can save your family not only stress but money in what will undoubtedly be a difficult time for them.

Buller McLeod are Victorian Estate Planning Lawyers who can help:

  • Advise you in regard to estate and Probate laws
  • Write a legally valid will that sets out your wishes
  • Set up family and testamentary trusts
  • Advise you in regard to choosing executors and guardians
  • Minimise the chance that your will is contested and subject to litigation
  • Advise in regard to estate tax (including capital gains) and financial concerns
  • Safely store your will and other important legal documents
  • advise you about the best ways to plan management of your deceased estate

At the same time as considering your Will we suggest that you also consider whether you need to put in place plans for any future incapacity through Power of Attorney and Guardianship documents. This will ensure that if you somehow become unable to make decisions about your finances, your medical treatment or living arrangements then the person or persons who you trust to make these decisions can do so unhindered.

Preparing your own Will, even using one of the many “Will’s Kits” now available, can be very risky. If a Will is not written and executed correctly it can be invalid, and this can mean that your family and loved ones may miss out and go through unnecessary upset and distress. Considering the value of real estate nowadays even a small to medium sized deceased estate can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars – given this it is worth having a lawyer properly prepare your Will.

It doesn’t have to cost as much as you might think to have a Will properly prepared by an experienced lawyer – for clients who come to us through this website we have a special offer for a single standard type of  Will for $350.00 incl. GST or $550.00 incl GST for two husband/wife or domestic relationship/couple Wills. By “standard” we mean a Will where spouses/partners leave all they have to each other if they are alive or, if not, then to their children or grandchildren. In order to take advantage of this special offer please call our office on 03 9306 4000 to make an appointment to see our Mr.McLeod and make sure that you mention that you are calling because you saw the offer on our Website. Alternatively if you find it hard to get to our office during business hours to discuss your Will you can always send us an email – we will reply as soon as possible.

If your Will is more complicated than the “standard” type of Will we are happy to give a no obligation quote once you have explained what you want done in your Will.
